My family and I spent a beautiful July day at the newly updated Copper Mountain Resort. Hours are 9am – 5pm and we wanted to make sure we had plenty of time to do everything so we got there as soon as it opened. With the $20 off coupon it is the best deal in Summit County for family fun. Cost nothing to watch and roam around Copper Resort and parking is free.
The Woodward Wreck Triangle was our starting point and a good start to our visit. Everyone from ages 11-20 years LOVED this ninja course! We laughed so hard we cried at the zip cord at the end. On to the jumper to get in some forward and backward flips in midair. Everyone was very excited to try the Rocky Mountain Alpine Rollercoaster – touted as the longest coaster in Summit County. It did NOT disappoint! We have done Peak 8 in Breckenridge many times, and this was by far higher and faster! Must say the husband was a bit intimidated and tried to go slow around the bends – but the rest of us went full tilt. Bestest time ever!
Lunch was at the Mac and Cheese stand – which was yummy with more versions of mac and cheese than you would think possible. You could bring your own lunch and snacks and sit at an outside table if you choose.
We did the all you can do mini-golf and headed to the lake activities. Make sure you have closed toe shoes for the zip line across the lake. The water boats – with soakers – as well as the hydro bikes were the other huge hit. It was a hot summer day, and spraying each other was another laugh til we cried activity! Loaded up on candy at the candy stand, and finished the day with the go cart track. The outside restaurant deck is a beautiful addition to have a cocktail or appetizer for Yappy Hour 2-5pm, while the kids did another round of jumping and ninja work.
This was seriously the best deal in Summit County for all day fun! It has something for everyone, even for those who choose not to ride. We will be back next summer!
